Michael Podgainy, 1965 years of birth, scientific employee of the Kherson
Local lore museum, the Ukrainian collector of snowman art.
Michael started to collect the snowman-art in age of 12 years, when he found
out on the garret of grandmother's house a self-made toy of a Snowman constructed
of wool clews. Today his collection includes 2127 exhibits, among which
there are New Year tree toys, photos of actual snow snowmen, moved models,
ex-librises, pictorial and graphics. For our site Michael proposed the series
of purchased or selected art-works of the Kherson artists. Now negotiations
for more full exhibition of his collection are conducted. On Michael's point
of view the most valuable exhibits of the collection are some sketches of
Savrasov and photo of Lenin, where on a background (on Podgainiy's suggestion)
the contour of a snowman is viewed. |
