The civilisations born and disappear... The only thing making them related is a continuous process of garbage production. Garbage it's an end product of a civilisation, its sense and initial material of new culture. The action, undertaken by us, ideologically is based on idea about a forthcoming reality of a virtual dump, as the only life environment of the rests of human community.

GARBAGE CIVILIZATION
The 18th of May at 9.00 group of youth - artists, designers
and active workers of public organisations - has landed in area of the
Kherson city dump. So the action, " Civilisation of garbage " began: during
the day from plastic bottles, iron wire, old things thrown out toys and
other garbage of man life and abilities the sculptures and visual objects
were created. What for? The journalists, which have arrived just in time
for seeing the completed sculptures, asked more often this question. Kherson
artist Eugeny Bondarenko is the author of idea of such exhibition . But
the Centre of youth initiatives "Totem" has seen in this action not only
cultural, but also ecological sense. You see with the help of such action
it is possible to attract public attention to the problems of city dump
and by visual demonstration show probable variant of the future - civilisation,
all spheres of which (even art and the culture) are built on the not processed
garbage. The discussion of the sketches of sculptures and detailed planning
of the performance lasted two months. The active workers of "Totem" -
students of faculty "Design and computer graphic" of the Kherson technical
university were also involved in work, they have burnt with idea to work
with unusual material. The volunteers of the Kherson regional Fund of
charity and health decided to help in realisation of this project too.
During the work nobody prevented the artists and volunteers, but as soon
as journalists with cameras have appeared the security of the dump has
run and attempted to forbid videoshooting. The journalists have defended
their rights, and as a result all mass media (including national TV-channels)
have shown this project. In second half of a day the actors with performance
have appeared near the dump. The creative group, which names itself as
centre of self-realisation "Istvic witches", have appeared in the images
of Indian, girl - child in a pink dress with bow, poet and his patron
of art, vagabond Misha and propagandist of feminist party. Performance
was completed by picnic near the dump. When all sculptures were constructed
and performance was held, the security of the dump tried to find out when
the artists will take away the exhibition. The idea to remove the sculptures
made of garbage on the dump has seemed very funny, but hardly reasonable.
Interesting, about what the administration of the dump was afraid of:
that the vagabonds will begin to accustom to a modern art or heightened
attention to the dump after the art project?
