Avant-gard art of the beginning of 20th century remains one of the most
interesting cultural phenomena of Kherson region. In 1911 in Chernyanka
there was created the first futuristic group "Gilea" in this country,
where by the invitation of the Burlyuks stayed and worked V.Khlebnikov,
A.Kruchyonykh, V.Mayakovsky, B.Livshits, M.Larionov. The letters, paintings,
photos of the first futurists are stored both in museums of Kherson, and
in private collections of its inhabitants.
The initiative of creation of a museum of futurism had been discussed
during last ten years. There were scientific conferences and exhibitions,
nevertheless, due to economic and organizational difficulties this idea
hash been embodied till now. The unique materials related to creativity
of the futuristic group "Gilea" in the south of Ukraine (the Burlyuk brothers,
V.Khlebnikov, A.Kruchyonykh, V.Mayakovsky, B.Livshits, M.Larionov), which
are stored in archives of museums and private collections, remained inaccessible
to the broad audiences, artists and art critics.
At last, today, with appearance of new information technologies, the unique
possibility has appeared to embody idea of a museum of futurism and to
create a virtual museum - web-site " Terra Futura", which will allow all
interested to use the information assembled in Kherson. Futurism was that
art, which has proclaimed itself capable not only to use possibilities
of new technologies, but also organically to merge with them. First futurists
(since the Italians) were inspired by scientific and technical progress,
domestic futurists of the beginning of 20th century glorified it in the
manifests and pieces of art. For this reason the art, which in 21th century
grows together with new information technologies, resets us to creativity
of futurists and represents futurism in its new sounding.
The problem, which faces to the artists and art critics of Kherson, consists
not only in saving traditions of futurism in Kherson region and to inform
them up to all interested - both experts, and amateurs. A problem in restoring
these traditions to transform them from a died archival material into
living art, which would be processed and rethought by the artists of new
generation and represented the present living tradition of Kherson region.
With the purpose of helping to the artists to affirm themselves in a pattern
of modern information technologies and supporting their interest to searches
of a modern language of art our organization - Kherson Centre of the youth
initiatives "Totem", is beginning to create computer center. It is possible
to involve young artists of different spheres into its work only by means
of uniting them around the general goal. As such purpose we offer preservation
and restoration of traditions of vanguard art in Kherson region. Result
of this association of efforts is our web-site " Terra Futura ", on which
the creative youth reconstructs own vision of a cultural heritage. We
hope, that it not only push the young artists to active self-realization
at a new stage but will enrich the informational cultural network of Ukraine,
and will promote restoration of traditions futurism of our region - just
what Kherson region may be of interest not only Ukraine, but the whole
world either.
